The Wickerer wine trail is about 3.2 kilometers long. The nature trail leads along well-paved paths, about an hour and a half, on a well-marked circular hiking trail through the vineyards. Wine has been grown here since Roman times. Although the Wickerer wines are not as well known as those from the Rheingau vineyards between Walluf and Rüdesheim, Wicker is still part of the Rheingau wine-growing region as a "gateway to the Rheingau" and offers the five wine regions of Mönchsgewann, Nonnberg, Herrnberg, Stein and the well-known King Wilhelmsberg fine vine juices that wine lovers from all over the world taste.
The wine trail begins in the Taunusstrasse at the "Gate to the Rheingau", from there you follow the signs with the stylized yellow grape with green vine leaves. The well-signposted path leads through the Wickerer vineyards of Nonnberg, Stein and Mönchsgewann, offers several rest areas with benches along the way and provides information about the various grape varieties and cultivation techniques and the influence of viticulture on local history. You can also look forward to beautiful views of the nearby city of Frankfurt.
