The cycle path goes via the Cann Viaduct over the River Plym. On the viaduct you will find a viewing platform for peregrine falcons and in spring and early summer it is worth stopping here. Opposite the platform is an old quarry where Peregrine Falcons nest on ledges. A telescope is mounted here so that you can get a good look at the breeding birds.
Outside of these times, a break in your drive is still recommended to look out for other wildlife that call Plym Woods home, such as woodpeckers and ravens.

Majestic peregrine falcons come to the oak woodland around the River Plym to nest in March and April. At this peregrine falcon viewing spot, you might be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of one of the beautiful birds. They're large birds that are blue-grey in colour, with a black top of head and white face. You're most likely to spot one close to rocky sea cliffs or in an upland area.
