Dark Harbour is a sheltered cove on the rugged western side of Grand Manan Island, defined by its high basalt cliffs and a long gravel bar that creates a calm inner basin. The area is known for its fishing shacks, tidal pools, and the dramatic contrast between the quiet harbour and the steep cliffs rising behind it. Access is via a narrow road over the gravel bar, and low tide reveals wide stretches of rock and seaweed along the shoreline. It’s one of the island’s most distinctive coastal landscapes and works well as a scenic stop or short wander along the water’s edge.
