The Mount Shark route is a challenging climb that begins at the Mount Shark trailhead in Spray Valley Provincial Park. The trail follows forested paths before branching into a steep, rugged ascent up scree slopes and exposed ridgelines. Route-finding is key, as the path becomes faint higher up, but the effort is rewarded with sweeping views of Mount Assiniboine, Mount Engadine, and the Spray Lakes Valley. It’s a demanding scramble suited to experienced hikers comfortable with elevation gain, loose rock, and variable alpine weather.
