The 12 km long circular route leads over varied paths, sometimes through shady forests, sometimes over open fields. The hallmarks of this path are the many idyllic ponds with their special flora and fauna. Buttercups, irises and water lilies bloom here in spring. With a lot of luck you can admire the gray heron or even the rare kingfisher. The path is also characterized by wonderful viewpoints of the striking landscape. Along the old Roman road, the view of the local mountain of the Sankt Wendel region, the Schaumberg, opens up again and again. Those interested in culture and history can take a detour to the Roman excavation site "Wareswald", 800 meters from the hiking trail. At the intersection of two Roman military roads, a very important Roman settlement was built there in the 1st century AD, the foundation walls of which will be exposed. At the »Bauernstall« viewpoint you can take a short break to enjoy the great view of Oberthal. In Bliesen, it is worth visiting the neo-Romanesque Bliestaldom, the tower foundation walls of which date back to Roman times. Source: Text information board
