The original church was built by the starosta of Drohiczyn Piotr Kiszka in 1448. The current brick parish church was built in 1793 by Jakub Cicierski, the Drohiczyn understeward. It was consecrated the same year by Bishop Krzysztof Kaczkowski. The church was rebuilt in the neoclassical style in 1905 by Father Julian Rostowski. The parish chronicle and register books from 1690 have been preserved.
In 1998, the 550th anniversary of the parish was celebrated.
The parish includes believers living in the villages of Dzięcioły, Niemojki, Niemojki (settlement), Nowosielec, Patków, Patków-Prusy, Wólka Łysowska and Zaborów.
