The Molino del Comendador is an old hydraulic flour mill located near the confluence of the Bullaque and Guadiana Rivers, in the municipality of Piedrabuena.
On the banks of the Guadiana River, very close to where it joins the Bullaque River, in a natural setting of great ecological and scenic value.
History: Also known as the Molino del Conde, it has been in operation since the 18th century. For centuries, it ground wheat for bread and animal feed, serving Luciana and nearby towns.
Although no longer in operation, the mill retains part of its structure and is accessible by track. Parking is available nearby, making it a good starting point for hiking trails.
The area is a backwater of the Guadiana before it joins the Bullaque, with islets, marsh and tree vegetation, ideal for observing birds such as night herons, herons, bee-eaters, nightingales, and even black vultures.
