Visiting the communal granary in the Anti-Atlas region was an absolute highlight for us. The Agadir we explored is one of the best preserved – originally built around 900 years ago, renovated in 2023, and still in use by the local community today.
We joined a tour with Brahim (from Café Du Moulin, you can reach him via WhatsApp for the tour: +212 661-282075). Even though he didn’t speak English, he shared his knowledge with such passion that we gained a deep understanding of how the Agadir works and its role in Berber culture. He patiently answered all our questions and gave us authentic insights into this unique heritage.
The tour itself only cost a few dirhams, and when we offered a small tip, Brahim warmly invited us back to his café for tea – where he shared even more fascinating details about Berber life and traditions.
This visit was truly one of the most memorable cultural experiences of our Morocco trip.
