The visit is free. The part of the fort inside the walls is private and cannot be visited. But it is much quieter here and you almost have the island to yourself (at least in April 😉)

The fort was built in 1542 to protect St Aubin from the ever-threatening attacks from the sea. On foot you can only visit it at low tide, best with rubber boots. Part of the way is "solid", but you have to get there first. ⚠️ However, please be very careful, the tide change on Jersey is exceptional in every way!

St Aubin’s Fort is a fortification that is located in the town of St Aubin. It was built in 1540 as a means of controlling the entrance to St Aubin’s Port, which was Jersey’s main port at that time.

Although the building remains locked at all times, St Aubin’s Fort is still a wonderful place to visit.
