The southern area of the Schlossberg has been a residential area with villa-like buildings since the turn of the last century. Outstanding building among these villas, which made the preferred location of the Schlossberg their own, is the neo-baroque Grün'sche Villa, which is also protected as a cultural monument.

Economic History Museum on the Schlossberg.
Villa Grün is located on the Schlossberg near the Wilhelmsturm. It was built in 1914 in neoclassical style. The Economic History Museum has been housed in it since 1983. The history and unusual diversity of the economy in the Dill area is shown here in more than twenty rooms. Exhibits from the 17th century to built-in and aircraft kitchens are on display in the kitchen department. Works by well-known artists are also presented in changing exhibitions at Villa Grün.
