The Monument to the Victims of the War of 1812, located near the village of Studenka, is a landmark site associated with the tragic events that saw fierce fighting between the Russian armies and the French corps of Wittgenstein and Chichagov. An allegorical monument honoring the fallen was erected at the site of the historic battle in 2002. Rising on a cruciform stone pedestal, it depicts a classical youth warrior who fell in battle. A banner flutters above his head, and a bending tree supports a mighty eagle—a symbol of military valor. At the monument's base lie massive boulders polished with black granite, reminiscent of the icy waves of the Berezina River.
