Its history began with wooden buildings, which soon burned down. In 1877, new walls rose on the ashes - this time brick, much larger than the previous ones. The local lands turned out to be rich in clay, so they launched their own brick factory nearby, and this gave carte blanche to the builders.
The manufactory grew rapidly, barracks for workers, a school, a people's house, a hospital, a fire department and even a railway station appeared. This is how Vysokovsk was gradually born.
For more than a century, the factory was the heart of the city, but the enterprise did not survive the 2008 crisis and went bankrupt a year later, becoming another abandoned building. However, since 2023, the restoration of the left wing has begun.
