For this route some training and good resistance is required, it is probable in the first 40/50 km in some days, to find a lot of wind that slows down the pace a bit, especially near the Cepovan area. Along the way you can catch a glimpse of shelters and artillery positions of the First World War. Along the way you can enjoy enchanting views of the forests and rivers of Slovenia.

The small island of Blejski Otok, with its famous Church of St. Mary and significant archaeological excavations from the Early and High Middle Ages, is located in the lake. It is the only island in Slovenia. The crossing to the island is usually offered in a traditional wooden boat, the Pletna (similar in terminology to the flatboats used in the Salzkammergut region). The island is not permanently inhabited.[9]

Bled Castle (Blejski grad) towers over the lake on a steep rock on the northern shore.[10]

Another attraction on the southwest shore is Grimščica Castle (Graščina Grimšče).[11] In the tradition of the rulers of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, the President of the Socialist Republic of Yugoslavia, Josip Broz Tito, used a villa on the lakeshore as his summer residence.[12][13]

For tourists and locals, there is a summer toboggan run near the lake along a chairlift, open from summer to autumn. It is 520 m long and has an elevation difference of
