Merano's Laubengasse is an 800-year-old shopping street consisting of two rows of houses with arcades separated by a narrow passage.

Historically, they originated as water arcades and mountain arcades.

The arcades, built by Meinhard II, Count of Tyrol, in the 13th century, have been the center of the city's hustle and bustle ever since.

Today, the Laubengasse, with its boutiques, shops, cafés, and restaurants, is one of the most important shopping streets in the old town.

Laubengasse is Merano's main shopping street. In this naturally grown shopping center, you'll find everything from textile and grocery stores, handicrafts and arts and crafts, specialty retailers, fashion boutiques, and international stores, to coffee houses and restaurants.

The 2-part Laubengasse in Merano is 800 years old. The mountain arbors are in the direction of the Küchelberg, the water arbors in the direction of the Passer.
Today, the 400 m long arcades with their many shops and places to eat are one of the main crowd pullers in Meran.

Wonderful shopping and promenade in Meran's city center. There is everything the outdoor heart desires and there is also a lot on offer in terms of culinary delights ... Whenever the weather is bad, you go to Merano, including the Laubengasse! :-)
