This huge quartzite "table" has an estimated weight of 17,000 kg and is 3.75 m long.

Formerly known as "The Great Stone of Houssé", this "table" made of quartzite (about 500 million years old) was discovered in September 1887 by Théodor Britte (owner of springs in Verviers) overgrown with heather and ferns, before spruce trees were planted here.

In a report published in 2012, geologists from the University of Liège update the geological criticism of this megalithic pseudo-monument by concluding: "We therefore propose to abandon the dolmen hypothesis and to represent this rock as a simple megalith formed by natural processes that took place in a periglacial climate."

The dolmen of Solwaster, (also called the large stone of Houssé), is a pseudodolmen south of Solwaster near Spa near the Statte river in the province of Liège in Belgium. It was discovered by Théodore Britte in 1887.

The pseudo-dolmen is a partially undermined block of quartzite with an incision on axes or a primitive plow, which is characteristic of the dolmens of Brittany, on the top. After discovery, important geologists, including G. Dewalque, spoke out in 1888 that this was only a geological phenomenon. In the same year, archaeological assessments led a. that of Baron E. de Loe in the same direction.
