Zeppelin stones are memorial stones that were erected as part of the Zeppelin and aviation enthusiasm, mainly before and during the First World War. For this purpose, natural stones (boulders) were often provided with an inscription or an additional plaque. In most cases, the erection of a zeppelin stone was directly related to the landing, crossing or accident of a zeppelin.
