Hanekenfähr (older spellings also Hanneken- or Haneckenfähr) is an area on the Ems between Lingen (Schepsdorf and Darme) and Emsbüren (Elbergen) in the Emsland district.

The Emswehr in Hanekenfähr, also called the “waterfall”.

Until the 19th century, a ferry crossed the Ems at this point. The Ems and the Dortmund-Ems Canal (DEK) unite two kilometers earlier behind the Gleesen lock, forming the first common course of the Dortmund-Ems Canal and the navigable Ems to the Ems weir in Hanekenfähr. Today Hanekenfähr is important as a junction in the Ems waterway network and as a recreational area. The Ems forms the municipal border between Emsbüren and Lingen. There is also an industrial area adjacent, which reduces the quality of the local recreation area due to noise emissions.
