Lake Eicher is connected to the Rhine, so the lake is surrounded by a holiday resort with weekend homes, many of which have their own private jetty. Several spots offer excellent views of the lake. The terrace of the Kleine Kneipe (small pub) is located directly on the shore and offers cyclists and hikers a great place to take a break. Lake Eicher is not really a swimming spot, however.

The idyllic and inviting restaurant “Zum Eicher See” is located directly on Lake Eicher. From the terrace you have a wonderful view of the lake. The restaurant is open all year round except January.

The Eicher See is located in the Altrhein nature reserve in the area of the local community of Eich. The lake, also known as "Rheinhessisches Meer" or "Rheinhessen's bathtub", is a quarry pond and has direct access to the Rhine.

The lake offers opportunities for almost all types of water sports activities, especially sailing, fishing and surfing. It has a marina and is the home port of a sailing club. Swimming in the lake is allowed, but there are no public beach areas here, as the shore area is mostly privately owned.

There is a DLRG water rescue station on site.
