Seeon-Seebruck with its three districts is an ancient settlement and cultural area. There are some nationally significant archaeological monuments from prehistoric and early historical times. “Bedaium” (Seebruck) is also one of the best-researched Roman towns in Bavaria. The Seeon monastery was founded in 994, and its famous writing school received commissions from Emperor Heinrich II.
