Between the unfortunately failed Ruhr Bridge ("Quality of Stay") and the University of Applied Sciences, there is finally a 1.3 km short RS1 section in the original RS1 design. Opened on May 15, 2019. This enables a car-free connection between the Essen University campus and Mülheim University of Applied Sciences. (Some of the photos still show the construction condition).
