Kufstein Fortress is one of Tyrol's most famous landmarks, towering impressively above the town of Kufstein on a rock above the Inn River. Its origins date back to the 13th century, when it was first documented. Over the centuries, the fortress was expanded and enhanced several times, especially during the Habsburg reign, when it played an important strategic role on the border between Bavaria and Tyrol.

Particularly worth seeing are the imposing Imperial Tower, the historic gate system, and the impressive fortress walls. Today, the fortress houses a museum that vividly presents the eventful history of the fortress and the region. In addition, cultural events, concerts, and festivals are held regularly, attracting visitors from near and far. Another highlight is the Heldenorgel, the world's largest open-air organ, whose sound echoes over the town daily.

The fortress is easily accessible by bike – the route leads through the picturesque old town of Kufstein and offers beautiful views of the fortress and the Inn Valley.
