Like all Palatinate forest huts, the Lambertskreuzhütte also offers delicious hospitality at a very fair price. There is a nice children's playground and the forecourt is shaded. A nice place to stop and relax.

The old crossroads, 467 m high, was named after a medieval stone cross that takes its name from Saint Lambertus, former Bishop of Maastricht, who was murdered around 705. The cross was first mentioned in a document in 1280. This makes the Lambertskreuz the oldest surviving stone cross in the Palatinate. Source: Wikipedia

In 1905 members of the local group Lambrecht of the Palatinate Forest Association dug up the broken stone cross, put the parts together again and put it back in place. In the same year, the plans for the construction of an accommodation hut at the Lambertskreuz location became more concrete in the still young local group Lambrecht. In 1907, the first Lambertkreuzhütte, a wooden hut, was inaugurated and according to the inscription at the entrance the oldest PWV hut. Good food. Especially popular is the bee sting. A destination that is highly recommended.

The menu at Lambertkreuz is a little more varied than at most other PWV huts. In addition, this is also relatively large here.
The large tree in front of the entrance is a nice shade provider in summer. 😎
