Located at the northeastern end of the Jardim Diana, on the edge of the esplanade, this fountain offers fantastic views not only of northern Évora, but also of the Alentejo region in the distance. The sculpture adorning the fountain was created in 1981 as part of the first International Sculpture Symposium of Évora and is titled "The Full Moon Sinking into the Rough Sea." Its form is reminiscent of embracing lovers. It is the work of the Japanese sculptor Syoho Goichi Kitagawa. Other sculptures created for this symposium adorn the Jardim Diana.
