The old road through the nature reserve Pferdbroich is wonderful for a walk. The road is growing so slowly again. The lake shore is unfortunately closed off.

The NSG Pferdsbroich is located on the northwest border of the district south of the village of Schiefbahn and belongs to the urban area of Korschenbroich. It is an almost closed forest area with an area of 35 ha. Only in the south are smaller agricultural areas and a disused landfill. The northern channel borders the area in the north.

The Pferdsbroich is originally an alluvial forest site, today it represents the largest still preserved fen in the north channel lowlands. Depending on the moisture conditions, the potential natural vegetation is alder forest, black cherry-alder-ash forest or moist pedunculate oak-hornbeam forest. The low groundwater levels found in 1993 have now risen again, so that the original plant communities can stabilize or regenerate again.
