Small observation tower on the southern edge of the wilderness core zone in the Döberitzer Heide. As you climb the spiral staircase, a fantastic view over the forest and heathland of the Döberitzer Heide awaits you. Especially spectacular: towards the east you can clearly see the listening station on the Teufelsberg - even without binoculars.

Sounds silly, but the tower is not for the faint of heart or for people with vertigo. Due to the special construction, the tower fluctuates when it is windy.

Unfortunately, the southern route through the Döbritzer heath is not particularly rewarding and sometimes cumbersome or strenuous to commit. All the more rewarding is the climb to this free lookout tower in good weather. The view is fantastic.

The climb is worth it, you have a great 360 degree view. Teufelsberg, Wannsee, Grunewald Tower and much more can be discovered with good visibility. Those who are not free from giddiness should rather stay downstairs. The tower sways a little.

With the Fatty (26 x 4.0) just thrown through the sand, tires less than 3.0 I wouldn't recommend it. From the observation tower a wonderful view to Spandau and to the FS tower, if you are lucky you can see Przewalski horses, water buffalo, humpback cattle, sheep and bison (they were hiding).

The observation tower was definitely a highlight. Sways slightly in the wind but the view is worth the climb. The view extends (in good weather) in one direction to Berlin (TV tower, radar towers on Teufelsberg, Spandau) in the other direction to Brandenburg (city).
