Hydropower has always played an important role in Hotzenwald. The Energy Museum is dedicated in particular to the historical use of hydroelectric power. From the time of mechanization and electrification, transmission-driven agricultural and domestic appliances are shown. This is nicely complemented by various types of turbine and water wheels. Somewhat obscured in the rear area is still a small hydropower plant from 1908, which was put back into service in 1992 by the Energiedienst Rheinfelden. In the machine room of the hydroelectric power plant visitors can see the new machines. Also, the history of the power plant is not too short, because the historic apartment of the former power plant manager above the machine room can also be viewed and allows a glimpse into life in the middle of the last century.
