Most of the hotspots in Bavaria can be found in Upper Bavaria. Thus the Danube Strait is an exception. It is in Lower Bavaria: just 30 kilometers from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Regensburg is the world-famous Danube breakthrough in the Kelheim district. And that's not all: a few meters upriver lies the Weltenburg monastery directly on the Danube. Two well-known and worthwhile sights in Bavaria. And then there is also the Liberation Hall. It is not in the Danube Valley, but directly above it on the ridge.

Bike path partially expanded on the Danube. Very rustic to look at, if you have otherwise seen the Danube only in the flat terrain.
