The Baita del Gioan was created under a large rock and serves as a shelter for hikers in case of rain.
It is looked after by Giovanni, who reaches the bivouac in summer and winter and takes care of its maintenance.

This small building is open in the summer and serves as a useful shelter in bad weather. It is located just above the Alben refuge, near the Forca Pass. The trail to reach it is easy and suitable for everyone (training permitting). Nearby destinations include the Alben refuge, the Forca Pass, the Cima Alben, and the Cima della Spada.
