Mosvatnet is an idyllic inland lake in western Stavanger, with the word "vatnet" always meaning "water." In the 19th and 20th centuries, the lake was the city's most important drinking water reservoir; today, it serves exclusively as a local recreation area. A nearly 4-kilometer circular path surrounds the entire lake and is ideal for walking, jogging, or cycling. Along the path, there are numerous benches, small walkways, and viewpoints that invite you to take a break overlooking the water. There are also several sculptures and art objects by Norwegian and international artists.
