This farm was already indicated on the Ferraris map (1770-1778) as "Groot Fonchier" and on the Atlas der Buurtwegen (1844) as "Foncieregoed".
"Foncier" is the term used in medieval feudal law to refer to the part of a manor occupied and cultivated by the lord himself.
The current farm's appearance largely dates from the first half of the 19th century, with the exception of the farmhouse, which dates from 1922.
Currently, the estate houses a farm butcher shop, "Wit-Blauw," which sells directly from producer to consumer.
