The old gray poplar tree is located on the outskirts of Hédervár, at the end of a road lined with birch trees.
According to tradition, the nobles who conspired against King Sigismund, led by István Héderváry Kont, held their meeting here. He was executed together with thirty of his companions in 1388.
In 1911, a descendant of the family, Khuen Károly Héderváry, had a small hill built around the tree and a memorial plaque placed here.
