A luxury tourist complex built on the ruins of a medieval castle.
Completed just before the Bosnian Civil War (1992-1995) by the local industrial conglomerate Agrokomerc, the complex served as headquarters for the Western Bosnian Army led by Fikret Abdić, Agrokomerc's boss, a brilliant entrepreneur and Bosnian politician known throughout the former Yugoslavia.
Thanks to its alliance with the Croatian Serbs, who surrounded many of its factories and the castle, it suffered very little damage during the war.
In fact, Agrokomerc negotiated as early as 1991 with the Croatian Serbs, who surrounded part of the city: if you don't attack us, who are Muslims, then we will supply you with weapons smuggled from Rijeka.
As a result, the Muslims of Bihać loyal to Sarajevo attacked them, thus creating a war between Muslims in Bosnia!
Agrokomerc ultimately lost to Bihać despite Serb help.
For 20 years, Agrokomerc has been in power.
