The birthplace of the Beatles and Liverpool Football Club, Liverpool is a buzzing metropole in the North of England that has a huge variety of to offer visitors, so much so that it was nominated as the European Capital of Culture in 2008. Liverpool is a diverse city with several UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the Liverpool Maritime Mercantile areas which played a key role in international trade and docking developments. Liverpool has been a major British port since the beginning of the 18th century . Today, they are being developed as cultural centres, home to the Echo Arena, BT Convention Center, and various museums.

Mostly flat ride, great views along historic Mersey, good parks, a disused railway line, a short section on quiet roads passing famous Penny Lane, a couple of great pubs at Childe of Hale and Fiddlers Ferry, one short section around Speke a bit industrial but part of link back to coast. From Fiddlers ferry canal track recently upgraded great. Route exposed so windy at times but overall lots of interesting things to see.
