Departing from Puycelsi, a picturesque fortified town with a superb panoramic view. The GR 46 is a difficult route (pushing is required), so a detour via the Lavaur trail is possible, but the path to the top is superb!
A tour follows forest trails, with a short connection via a path.
This forest is the largest forested area in the department (it covers over 3,000 hectares). Dominated by oaks, it is home to a very rich biodiversity: short-toed eagle, red kite, falcons, booted eagles, nocturnal birds of prey, small mammals, and deer (you can listen to the deer call there in season), etc.
Connection to the very pretty site of Sainte-Cécile du Cayrou.
