Zeist Castle
Once the pleasure resort of Willem Adriaan, Count of Nassau-Odijk and grandson of Prince Maurits.
Now the ideal setting for royal events, soaking up history or enjoying art and culture.
Willem Adriaan bought the manor of Zeist and the dilapidated medieval castle from the States of Utrecht. He started building a pleasure garden with the collaboration of the architects Jacob Roman, a Leiden city architect and later stadtholder architect, and Daniël Marot, a French Huguenot of international fame.
