The Brewery and Tannery House is a historically significant building with an impressive Baroque façade, uniting two narrow houses since 1790. One of these houses held a so-called "brewer's right"—the right to brew beer. This included a brewhouse at the confluence of the Oberach and Breitsach rivers, which is considered the original building of today's Ried Brewery.
