The entire trail follows the terrain. It winds its way along the ridge and valley floor, initially more downhill, then more uphill, and finally, up to the highest point, which is quite steep.
A good 400m above sea level at the start, about 420m above sea level at the highest point at the end of the canyon, over the pass to Menetes. Immediately after the pass, the trail passes the garbage dump. The Meltemi has already scattered millions of plastic bags across the area.
We only reached Menetes at dusk, but it was still beautiful to look at.
