This is a more challenging section of the Knobstone Trail that takes you alongside Johnson Knob. It has a steady climb with rocky, root-filled singletrack along the ridge. You’ll get some nice views of the forest and the valleys below, especially in fall, but watch your footing on the descents. Water is limited here, so bring it with you from Delaney Creek (always filter it). It’s a quiet spot that sees fewer hikers than other segments because it’s a side trail that not everyone does.
