This high lake, up in the rafters of the Tafjordfjella range, is named because Olav Aarsæther, a member of Operation Fieldfare during the Second World War, received a radio message here informing him that other team members had failed to check in at Fieldfarehytta on time. This historic cabin is a 15-minute walk from Veltdalshytta. Operation Fieldfare was a sabotage mission to disrupt German supply lines in Romsdal.
