The two men push with all their might against the barrier they have erected to stop the forces of nature. The work stands on the dike in the New Meldorf harbor and symbolizes the struggle of people against the storm surges of the North Sea. The design is deliberately kept raw. The storm surge is represented by roughly hewn boulders, and the two men look as if the sculpture were already ancient and heavily weathered.
