For those arriving on the island from Porozina, the road to Cres is very tough:
immediately about 10 km of climbing with almost no trees, although regular and with good asphalt.
It is advisable to take ferries early in the morning or in the evening, because in broad daylight (as we did) it is a very hot climb and with no way of finding water up to Cres.
Then the road narrows, enters the woods and has some ups and downs but not as challenging as the first part, and the descent to Cres is very beautiful and panoramic.
In the upper part of the road you can see the bays of the island, the nearby islands and the Croatian coast both towards Istria and towards Rijeka and beyond.
