On the occasion of the 1972 Summer Olympics, the Olympic Park on Oberwiesenfeld, four kilometers from the city center, was completed after a construction period of 6 years. The area covers a total area of three square kilometers. From the fifty meter high Olympiaberg (former rubble of Munich's ruins from the Second World War) you can enjoy a wonderful overview of the site and the entire city. Today there is a recreational opportunity on every corner, unless it is Corona lockdown. But even then, a walk through the park is wonderful.
