Beautiful landscape: fields, Mirabelle trees, "A new forest for Cologne", view of the tower of "Gut Mielenforst", which was built by the entrepreneurial family vom Andree (donor of the building site for the Evangelical Christ Church Dellbrück and the former hospital in Dellbrück). was and in the 2nd WW the flak command for Cologne rrh. housed. The tower was "ground" for the military airport (today: Merheim Hospital), i.e. at least shortened. The Mielenforst is almost entirely bikeable and a great car-free connection between Refrath, Dellbrück, Brück, Merheim, Holweide and one of my favorite routes.
