A special eye-catcher in the port of Konstanz is the concrete statue “Imperia”, which was erected in 1993 and is intended to serve as a satirical reminder of the Council of Constance (1414–1418).

From here you can reach the cities of Friedrichshafen and Ravensburg via express bus lines that run several times a day on weekdays. In the summer, a private passenger ship runs from Konstanz-Seestraße via Bodensee-Therme, the Swiss Bottighofen and back to Konstanz-Hafen.

The Imperia is a statue in the port of Constance on Lake Constance, designed and executed by the sculptor Peter Lenk and erected in 1993. The figure is cast in concrete, nine meters high, weighs 18 tons and, with the help of a rotary table, rotates once around its own axis within four minutes. A 9 m high, 18 tonne cast concrete figure of a very scantily clad woman with a dunce's cap on her head rises on a base made from the remains of a former pier tower. She carries two naked male figures on her outstretched arms. In one hand, with legs crossed, sits a figure with a papal tiara; in the other hand, with legs spread, sits a figure with an imperial crown, holding an imperial orb in its hand. The female figure stands on a round table that rotates once around its own axis in four minutes.

The base of the Imperia is the oldest water level measuring station, not only on Lake Constance, but in the whole of Baden-Württemberg. It went into operation in 1816 in what was then the pier tower and remained intact even after this tower was demolished in 1890. The Imperia statue, created by the artist Peter Lenk, was erected on the remains of this tower on April 24, 1993.
