In the small port of Kraten, colorful graffiti has adorned more than 23 facades since 2022, transforming the site into an open-air gallery.
Created as part of a participatory project led by the Union of Tunisian Visual Artists and the Kraten Association for the Sustainable Development of Culture and Leisure (AKDDCL), these works, by Abdesslem Tkitek, Skander Tej, and Ahmed Mejbri, celebrate artisanal fishing, marine wildlife, and local identity.
Beyond visual pleasure, these frescoes carry a powerful environmental message: preserving the ecosystem of the Gulf of Gabès and promoting sustainable practices. An inspiring stopover combining art, the sea, and eco-citizenship.
A must-see for lovers of art, the sea, and committed culture.
