Pizzo Formico dominates the Farno basin, above Gandino on the south side and the Clusone plateau on the north side. Very popular in winter by cross-country skiers, it offers, from its modest 1636 m., An exceptional panorama, from west to east, towards the Prealps and the Orobie Alps, while a thousand meters below the Val Seriana and Val Gandino extend industriously. This mountain can be climbed both from Gandino, through the gentle plains of the Farno basin and from Clusone, from the San Lucio Refuge, passing through woods, clearings and pastures dotted with farmhouses.

Not a very high peak, but still the highest in the entire area which winds in a horseshoe shape from Monte Pler to Formico.
It offers a beautiful view of the Orobie Alps and the underlying karst pasture basin of the Farno.
Easily reachable from anywhere both in summer and winter.

This lace dominates the Farno basin. During the summer holidays it was the main destination for walks organized by the nuns of the Farno colony. Renamed "Monte Croce" for obvious reasons.

Great view to Monte Guglielmo and the Orobie Alpe, broad summit. There's even a plaque listing nearby peaks and towns. Also not far to the Parafülmen hut, where there are great cakes

The view is very nice in all directions. On the top, there is a cross where you can sit and enjoy the place. Also there you can find the directions and names of the mountains around you.

From Pizzo Formico (1636 m) you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Bergamo Prealps, the Seriana Valley, the Gandino Valley and, on clear days, even Monviso.

What you can see from the summit:
Val Seriana and the Clusone plateau.

Val Gandino, with its historic villages.

Presolana, the "Queen of the Orobie".

Lake Iseo, visible on clear days.

Adamello Group, the Bergamo and Lecco Orobie.

Po Valley, with glimpses of the Apennines.

The summit cross, 12 meters high, is a point of reference for hikers and is illuminated on special occasions
