The building of the former branch of the Bank of Japan Otaru, known as "North Wall Street", is definitely an interesting visit for all history lovers. The exhibition (mainly in Japanese) is very interesting and reveals many details about the Japanese economy and history.
Access to the museum is free and takes about 30 minutes to visit all its streets. The entire stone building is characterized by an exquisite, western-inspired architecture and is a feast for the eyes, especially on snowy days.
Behind the thick doors of an impressive vault, 100 million yen are tattered in old bills, or the sight of 100 billion yen packed on several pallets in a vault.
All this makes the museum a great place.
