The Icelandic Seal Centre in Hvammstangi is a research and exhibition center that researches and details the lives of seals in and around Iceland. It is also the tourist information center for Húnaþing-vestra, Iceland's most popular destination for seal and wildlife watching.
At the center, you can learn about the different seal species found along Iceland's coast, their lifestyles and habits, and how to distinguish them from one another on a guided or self-guided seal-watching tour. You will also receive information about the area's wildlife, including the infamous Arctic fox, the eider duck, the famous puffins, whales, and the region's rich marine and inland birdlife.
