The castle impresses with its numerous towers, domes, and battlements, which are picturesquely reflected in the water. The throne room is particularly worth seeing, distinguished by its gilded columns and richly decorated ceilings.

Today, Schwerin Castle serves not only as a museum but also as the seat of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Parliament. Visitors can tour the historic rooms, view special exhibitions, and explore the expansive castle gardens. A special atmosphere is created when the castle is illuminated at night and its silhouette is reflected in the still waters of Lake Schwerin.
