The Roman road from Ivančna Gorica through Žužemberk and Dvor towards Črnomelj was once the main connection in this part of Slovenia. Later, the imperial trade route was laid along its route. It was in use until 1859, when a new road was built along the Krka Valley. There are many natural and cultural attractions along the Roman road, including the Naral Cross near Trebča vas. The remains of the Roman road are clearly visible at the church of St. Margaret above the village of Vrh pri Križih and in Zafara pri Žužemberk.
